Torrie Fields, MPH

Torrie Fields is the founder and CEO of Votive Health, which expands access to care for people with serious illness by building value-based arrangements between payers and providers. Before founding the company she oversaw serious illness strategy and value-based care at Blue Shield of California and built the palliative care program at Cambia Health Solutions.

A two-time cancer survivor who was uninsured and young when she was first diagnosed, she learned firsthand how policy decisions land in people's lives, and has spent her career translating evidence into benefit design, payment models and legislation. She has advised the Center to Advance Palliative Care, the Coalition to Transform Advanced Care and the National Academy for State Health Policy, and has worked with state Medicaid agencies across the country on community-based palliative care benefits. She holds a Master of Public Health from Oregon Health & Science University.
