Stephen Satterfield

Stephen Satterfield is a writer, sommelier and the founder of Whetstone Media, a publishing company devoted to food origins and culture. He created and hosts the Netflix series High on the Hog, which traces American food back to Africa and through the history of Black Americans.

His work treats food as a record of migration, inheritance and memory, and he writes and speaks on how culinary traditions carry the stories of people who did not get to write them down.
