Aisha Adkins

Aisha Adkins

Aisha Adkins is a writer, speaker and advocate based in Atlanta whose work amplifies the voices of young and minority family caregivers. She became a full-time caregiver in her late twenties when her mother, Rose, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, leaving her job to provide care.

In 2017 she founded Our Turn 2 Care, a platform connecting marginalized millennial caregivers to information, resources and each other, built around the isolation she felt finding almost nothing that reflected her own experience. She was an inaugural CARE Fellow with Caring Across Generations and has continued to work with the organization, and she earned a Master of Public Administration from Georgia State University's Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, where she assisted research on the emotional, physical and social effects of caregiving on vulnerable populations. Her advocacy focuses on dementia care outreach in Black communities and on caregiver rights.
