Sallie Tisdale, RN

Sallie Tisdale is a nurse and essayist whose books include Advice for Future Corpses (and Those Who Love Them): A Practical Perspective on Death and Dying, a plainspoken guide drawn from decades of bedside nursing and Buddhist practice. Her essays have appeared in Harper's, The New Yorker, The Antioch Review and elsewhere.

She has worked in palliative care and as a nursing educator, and writes about the physical realities of dying with an unusual lack of euphemism, alongside books on Buddhism, motherhood and desire.
