Rick Doblin, PhD

Rick Doblin is the founder of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, the nonprofit he started in 1986 to develop psychedelics and cannabis into legal prescription medicines. He holds a PhD in public policy from Harvard's Kennedy School, where his dissertation examined the regulation of psychedelics.

For nearly four decades he has shepherded psychedelic research through the FDA process, including studies of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD and work on psilocybin for existential distress in people with life-threatening illness. He is among the most recognizable public advocates for the therapeutic use of psychedelics.
