Physician, Writer, Founder, How We Heal

Mellody Hayes is a physician-writer, speaker and spiritual teacher, and the founder of How We Heal, a nonprofit working at the intersection of psychedelic healing and racial justice. She trained as an anesthesiologist, and her work brings together clinical medicine, contemplative practice and the question of what collective healing from racial trauma would actually require.
She is a graduate of Harvard College and UCSF School of Medicine, where she also completed her anesthesiology residency, a John Kenneth Galbraith Scholar and an alum of the VONA writing program. She writes and speaks on psychedelic therapy, mysticism and the difference between genuine transformation and spiritual bypass.
