Attica Locke

Attica Locke is an Edgar Award-winning novelist and television writer whose books include Bluebird, Bluebird, Heaven, My Home and Guide Me Home — the Highway 59 trilogy — as well as Black Water Rising and Pleasantville. Her television credits include Empire, Little Fires Everywhere and When They See Us.

She and her sister, Tembi Locke, have an overall deal with Universal Television, where they co-write and executive produce the adaptation of the Highway 59 books. Her writing returns repeatedly to family, inheritance and the long shadow of loss in East Texas.
