Writer, Grief Educator; Founder, PAUSE

Alica Forneret is a writer, speaker and grief educator, and the founder of PAUSE, an organization building culturally specific grief resources and retreat spaces for people of color. Her work began after the sudden death of her mother, and focuses on the gap between mainstream grief support and the needs of communities it was never designed for.
She consults with employers, hospices and death care organizations on grief-informed practice, and writes widely on death, mourning and the work of preparing for loss.
