The Media Impact Project is a program of the Norman Lear Center at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, dedicated to measuring how media shapes what audiences know, feel and do. Its researchers study the real-world effects of entertainment and news storytelling on public understanding of health and social issues, including how film and television portray serious illness, caregiving and death.
