Letter Midwife, Founder of LASTING LETTERS

Frish Brandt is a Letter Midwife helping people to write their essential letters. After 45 years in the arts, as President/Partner of the prestigious Fraenkel Gallery, she turned her attention to "her first calling which came second." Initially her services were provided within the context of palliative care and hospice, however it was not long before it became apparent that while a diagnosis was a catalyst, that being mortal was diagnosis enough. Thank you, I’m sorry, I miss you, I love you, I need to tell you something, goodbye, and more. Everyone, it seems, has a letter to write.
Since 2014 Frish has helped midwife over 800 letters. Her services have been provided through Zen Hospice Project, Commonweal, Stanford Hospital, By the Bay Health, among others. In addition, she teaches “Lasting Letters and the Art of Deep Listening at Stanford Medical School and has taught workshops at the DeYoung Museum, Handwritten Wines, Sun Valley Center for the Arts, Young Presidents’ Association, and End Well, to name a few.
Her book Unfinished Business: Writing the Five Essential Letters of Your Life, published by Penguin Random House / Rodale) is an invitation and a guide to writing one's essential letters. What are we waiting for?
